LAXMI AGGARWAL AN ACID ATTACK SURVIVOR

Laxmi Aggarwal, a Delhi based girl from India. She is a acid attack survivor. At a very young age of 15 in 2005., She was attcked by a man who is 32yr old named Guddu alias NaeemKhan whose marriage proposal was rejected by her. 

She has also advocated against acid attacks through garnering 27000 signatures for a petition to curb acid sales and taking that cause to supreme court.

This petition led the state government and central government to regulate the sale of acid and the parliament to make prosecution of acid attacks easier to locate.

       She is the director of chanav foundation a NGO dedicated to help acid survivor of acid attacks in India. In 2014 she received international women of courage award by US first lady Michelle Obama. Today she becomes the face of A Fashion brand in India

A Fashion clothing brand called "Viva and Glam" presented Laxmi as the brand ambassador to give a different   

               definition of beauty.

        In India on an approximate nearly 1000 acid attacks happen a year. She goes by her first name being survived by the acid attack. She became an advocate for women affected by acid attacks. And also she has been represented as the "Face of courage" in one of the modelling campaign. Today she is one of the India's foremost activist against acid attacks.

  "AFTER THE ATTACK I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER FIND A SOULMATE. I HAD  LOST HOPE BUT IN ALOK I COULD NOT        HAVE  FOUND ANYONE BETTER. HE    UNDERSTOOD THE KIND OF PAIN I WAS  

      IN AND WHAT I WAS UNDERGOING

        She is in a relationship with a journalist turned Social activist Alok Dixit. The founder and member of "save your voice", the one fighting for the freedom of internet in India. The couple are in a blissful livein-relationship. And the two decided to not to get married because brides looks are the most important to the society. The couple are also blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Pihu.
