Zoe Zorka a powerful women

Hai readers!

Welcome to the blog!. Today we have an another tremendous women on board, Presenting you Zoe Zorka!, Growing up in one country and moving to a different country, balancing and getting modified to that culture was very challenging which later turned her into a model, an author and an activist. Let's know more about how was she able to balance things between her modelling career and as an activist and also as an author, the obstacles she gone through in her life to become successful. Let's read on and know more..

                         "Smart is Sexy"

I grew up in Asia and moved to the US when I was 8. From there, I grew up mostly between Detroit, MI and Windsor, Ont (Canada). I finished high school in Indiana and then college/university in Colorado. I was shy until you got to know me. I had a slight speech impediment so I was scared to talk to people. But I loved writing. Everyone liked my blogs and it kind of brought me out of my shell. I did cross country, track, and swimming. I wasn't super popular, but I had good friends.

How did you start your career?
I had always liked to write, but it was just a hobby. I never went to school for it or anything. So I always had kind of been writing blogs. Then I started modelling just doing promo stuff with a friend in Colorado. I liked it so I started doing more. I was successful because I didn't look like every other girl.
My writing made me an accidental activist. I realized I had the power to change lives with my words, and I realized I had built an audience through my modelling exposure, so I look for ways to use my writing and influence to better the world whenever possible.

What are your success habits?
Use the tools you have. We all have gifts- just figure out how to use them. Take rejection with a grain of salt, but don't give up. Work out almost every day. For me, working out has always been a regular constant in my life and is important to staying in shape- physically, mentally, and emotionally

What were some of the challenges / struggles you faced in the course of your success?
When I moved to the US, it was a huge culture shock. I had never seen American movies or TV and had never heard American music. I talked and dressed differently and the kids were so mean. I had to learn how to fit in and it wasn't always either.

What are the projects you currently working on?

I'm working on Zenspiration, a  show/column for zenruption.com that features successful business people. I'm also working on Herspiration, a show about inspiring women for HER Magazine.

Should women wear make-up?
If they want to, great. If they don't want to, that's great too. Also, sometimes you  wear makeup and sometimes you don't. It's ok to change up from day to day. But we shouldn't shame women for wearing makeup or not wearing makeup.

What is your favourite make-up?
MAC Cosmetics. They are great quality and their colour foundation is the only one  that matches my skin tone. Also, it's important to have good makeup because your face is the first impression people get of you. Where I live, it's a desert in the mountains, so it gets very hot and very cold. In the summer, I need makeup that won't run when I sweat.

I love going to the MAC Counter at times when it's not busy, like 2 pm on a Tuesday or something, and playing with all the colours. I love their variety!

FAST FIVE SESSION:

■ What you love to wear?
I like simplicity with the focus just on one thing about the outfit- the shirt, a piece of jewellery, or even the shoes. I don't like to try to do too many things at once. I love cold weather, so I love cold weather clothes. I have 27 coats.
■ Your favourite brands?
Guess, Forever 21, and Abercrombie and Fitch
What is your favourite food?
          Pad Thai

Zoey Deschanel

Who is your fashion icon?
Zoey Deschanel- she rocks the bangs and has her own sense of style that is girly but quirky
Who is your favourite author?
         Dean Koontz

- WHAT IS BEAUTY ACCORDING TO YOU?
For me, it's about being comfortable in your own skin and matching your outward appearance to reflect how you feel inside. It's also about finding what works for you. I was mad one night and cut bangs a few years ago. Some people might think that was crazy, but it ended up being the best thing I did because it set me apart and kind of became my signature thing.

- WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONVEY A WOMAN THAT CAN ELIMINATE HER INSECURITIES?
Don't try to look like anybody else. If you do, you will be hiding how beautiful you are. Don't be afraid to try new things- new styles, colours, accessories, makeup, hair colours, etc.
Most importantly- external beauty isn't everything. Looks open the door but you gotta have a lot more going on if you want to get to the penthouse.
